Before the Pandemic, workers commuted happily to work.
They enjoyed interacting with their colleagues in person.
But then the Pandemic forced everyone to work from home.
They felt lonely and isolated.
Eventually, the Pandemic ended.
And the CEO—on a Zoom call from his home office—announced the Return-to-Office policy.
Workers were skeptical of the new policy.
The CEO touted the benefits of team cohesion, in-office communication, and not getting fired.
Workers warmed to the idea, once they learned how attendance would be tracked and that Mark would play ball.
Mark returned to the office, spending eight hours each day on Zoom calls with colleagues in other cities.
I made a short film which you may enjoy, about this companies trying to get workers back to the office.

Employers can require workers to spend time at the office from dawn to dusk but the human mind-body simply isn't productive for more than like 4 hours. This is why crunch culture doesn't translate to productivity. But employers will just do a massive layoff to please shareholders then hire AI to do all the work 24/7 and then go bankrupt because no one has money to buy the product/service. Terry Pratchett wrote a great book about this topic!
